Who pays for Council's Infrastructure?

Councils charge ordinary rates to property owners to fund essential services like infrastructure maintenance, renewals, and upgrades.

These rates are paid by property owners of four classes of property:

• Residential property rates
• Business property rates
• Farmland property rates
• Mining property rates

The ordinary rates support infrastructure services for public buildings, roads, stormwater drainage, open space / recreational, and other structures.
